As America's underground science laboratory, we are an international hub for world-class science experiments in many disciplines, including physics and biology, and a leader in K-12 and higher education. Our impacts in education and the economy of South Dakota have grown tremendously over the years. For example, in the 2022-2023 school year alone, our K-12 efforts served 18,000 students and 400 teachers across the state. Through 2029, our economic impact on South Dakota is expected to reach $2 billion and create nearly 1200 jobs. I am seeking opportunities to share SURF’s exciting story—our progress over the past 15 years and our plans for the future, including expansion of the underground laboratory space and the Institute for Underground Science at SURF
